Of Might and Magic - Western Lands

Siah walked into the desert following a sand-covered road. The sand whipping about him did not seem to bother him at all. He was very accustomed to these conditions.

"Now, Zalon, where are you?" His thoughts mulled over the last time he had seen his father's murderer. That look of absolute placidity had infuriated Siah. So close was the demon's blade to taking Zain's life. So very close!

Now Siah trudged onwards through the desert towards a distant city on the horizon, he did not know its name... but it bekoned to him.

Josh sighed, walking through the desert. He wasn't doing anything in particular, just traveling from city to city like he normally did. His wolf ears extended from his head, and his tail swayed behind him in the light wind.

The city was a long way off. Five men leapt out from rocks and boulders alongside the road. Siah stopped walking.

"Do you really want to do this?" His question was more enticing than inhibiting.

The men moved in, they had blood on their minds and could see Siah carried only his armour and weapons.

Josh continued walking, his ears perked. He sighed, continuing to walk towards the city in the distance.

The closest of the men ran at Siah. He was the largest and had death on his mind.
He was on Siah in moments, his axes lift high to cleave the armoured traveller. The attacker was soon floating in mid air his axes floating through the air behind him.

Siah sliced off his head and let his body fall to the ground. He looked at the other men, they paused...

Josh turned, hearing the commotion and scenting blood. His eyes darted to the scene, his hand resting on the handle of his blade if needed.

The men circled around Siah. "I've already won this battle." he thought.

Without warning the men attacked with axes, swords and clubs. Siah spun and dodged, he parried and blocked. Not one of the ambusher's weapons found a comfortable landing. Not one did any injury to Siah.

Josh sighed, turning around. "Anyone could beat a couple of murderous fools..." he murmured.

Two men fell, having been cleaved in half. The last two were engulfed in flames and the smell of seared flesh permiated the air.

Siah walked away, one of the dying men screaming.

Josh turned to see the man who had killed the men walking towards him, probably going to the same town.

"An Ookami? What is an Ookami doing here?" Siah's thoughts turned to Mika... how she had passed up immortality still weighed on him.

He walked up to the Ookami and looked at him curiously. "Where are you from?" He asked.

Josh narrowed his eyes, coming to a stop. "Josh come from forest." he told him, his English very broken from growing up in the forest.

"And", Said Siah, "You're headed to a City? Through the desert?" He walked past the Ookami continuing his journey.

Something wasn't right...

Josh sighed, walking past Siah with ease.

The demon wasn't used to the nature of the Ookami. He focussed his mind on his target, how would he hunt this time? How was he to hunt in a city?

Something wasn't right...

Josh continued walking, occasionally glancing around and perking his ears.

With a great flash, a mssive wall of sand flew towards the two travellers. In moments it had passed them by. Behind the wall of sand stood an old man in black robes.

Siah scowled. This was very wrong!

Josh spotted the old man, his hand moving to the handle of his blade once again. The desert was a dangerous place and he was learning that now.

Siah bowed his head and his armour glowed white-hot. His sword shone a brilliant silver and the old man stood still saying nothing.

Siah's left hand burst into flame as he levitated two feet off of the ground. The old man smiled.

Josh sighed, drawing his sword. The handle was a dark black and the blade extended 5 feet of red stainless steel. He crouched down low, ready to strike.

In an instant a small army of skeletons rose out of the surrounding sands. The dunes came alive with a dozen undead!

Siah looked at the aged Necromancer, "You're making a big mistake! You should bow before me not die before me."

The old man chuckled.

Josh shook his head, was he surrounded by psychos? He jumped forward, slashing quick but powerful slashes taking out 5 skeletons in two seconds.

Siah unleashed the fireball and consumed the line of skeletons in front of the Necromancer. The old man's smile disappeared. He hurled bolts of lightning at Siah and the Ookami.

Siah caught the bolt intended for him in his hand and it dissipated.

Josh placed his sword on guard as the lightning ran through the blade of his sword, not reaching the handle. After pulling back, Josh thrusted his sword forward, sending the lightning in the blade flying at the necromancer.
